LAPTOPS SPECIAL.... Ultraportable laptops crafted for the travelling CEO

Ultraportable laptops crafted for the travelling CEO

Thin, light and long lasting, these laptops aren’t just lightweight, they are designed for business on the go

The evolution of laptops has been driven by the push for thinner, lighter, and more power-efficient designs. In recent years these demands have merged into what may be the perfect expression of laptop design: the ultraportable. These systems are faster than ever, well-suited for travel, and come with a variety of features and display resolutions to fit any business leader’s needs.

Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 320
A basic Windows 10 laptop, the IdeaPad Miix 320 can be transformed into a 10-inch tablet by removing its magnetically attached keyboard. As a detachable hybrid, it is best suited for lightduty tasks as opposed to media creation or gaming, and comes with a combination of the Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor and Intel integrated graphics.

Dell XPS 13 (9360)
With Intel’s eighth-generation ‘Kaby Lake R’ processor upgrade, it is one of the popular ultraportable notebooks in the market. It is the company’s smallest 33.8 cm laptop with a thin bezel display screen (also available with touch). It is crafted from machined aluminium with a softtouch carbon fibre composite keyboard deck and palm rest.

Acer Swift 1
If you have ever sighed over a small 11.6-inch screen or one with lowly 1,366X768 resolution or crummy colours or viewing angles, the Swift 1 is worth a look for its screen alone. With its 1.10 GHz Intel processor, 4GB memory and 64 GB flash storage, the ultraportable will surprise you with a superior performance to its pricy counterparts.

Razer Blade Stealth
(13.3" QHD+, early 2018)
The latest version of Razer Blade Stealth also got an eighth-generation ‘Kaby Lake R’ quad-core Intel processor. While its two extra cores bring improved performance, it has got a higher resolution display with touch. It also has an aluminium build that feels solid and looks sleek.

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2017)
The 2017 update of the 13-inch MacBook Pro ($1,299) isn’t a groundbreaking refresh, but comes with new processor options from Intel’s seventh-generation Core i5 and Core i7 series. The improved battery life and performance make it a superior portable notebook than many of its Windows competitors.

HP Spectre 13 (2017)
The HP Spectre 13 ultraportable laptop series has become known for its head-turning, ultra-luxe style, and its latest version is no exception. It has an incongruous combination of the snow white keyboard and touchpad, and a razor-thin screen bezel. It manages to pack a good battery life and a powerful Intel Core i7 processor into a thin and light chassis.

Microsoft Surface Laptop
The Surface Laptop with Windows 10 S is aimed at those looking for a sleek alternative to their aging Apple MacBook. It is light and dons a thin body. The laptop promises 14.5 hours of battery life, uses same charger/dock, Surface Pen, and complements a CXO’s style with rich, tone-on-tone colour and an elegant design that fits easily in a bag.
