Devbaug; Tsunami Island Malvan is a small town located around 520 kms from Mumbai in Sindhudurg District on the Konkan belt of Maharashtra. And the best aspect of this strip is that it boasts of some of the cleanest and quietest beaches in the state.

Home to the spicy Malvani cuisine and Karli Backwaters, this destination has a unique charm and calmness around it. Around 3 kms from Malvan is a sleepy hamlet of Devbaug. Here you can hire an entire boat for around ` 1,700. And your family can then set forth on a beautiful 3-hour tour of the backwaters and the sea. The boats come equipped with life jackets, so need not fret. The morning tour on the boat cruises is highly recommended. You can take pictures when you slowly move toward the Sangam as this is the place where the backwaters and the blue seas converge. Come along and soak up the lush green view on both sides of the backwaters lined with coconut and casuarina trees.

Moving ahead after the Sangam the boat enters the sea and the sudden change in the movement of the boat can't be missed as it makes its ways through the waves. You move ahead towards the Dolphin Point to try your luck to catch a glimpse of those fascinating creatures. Along the way you will see Bhogwe and Nivti Beach and also the Golden Rocks.

TSUNAMI ISLAND LURE

The truth is that Tsunami Island is not formed due to the Tsunami waves. However, due to this imaginary name, it has become a popular tourist destination for water sports.You can enjoy fun activities of JetSki, Banana boat ride, Bumper boat and kayaks. You can make a brief stop at the Tsunami Island in the backwaters to enjoy various waters sports.The island gets submerged till knee length when there is a high tide and the land becomes visible with a low tide.
