The Turbo is the slimmest and lightest smartphone of the lot, featuring a unibody design with an aluminium plate at the back. However, the finishing isn’t refined and you can feel the sharp edges where the aluminium meets plastic.
The screen is bright, visible in sunlight, and the colour reproduction is excellent. However, there is no scratchresistant Gorilla Glass display, which is expected at this price.
The processor can’t keep up with the high-res display. On-screen animations are sluggish and it stutters when playing games like Dead Trigger 2. Multi-tasking is pretty good.
There are no major changes to Android. SMS alerts and the iFloat quick launcher are neat.
The Turbo doesn’t have a microSD card slot, which is ridiculous. You’ll run out of the 12.5GB space in no time.
The camera is disappointing. Shots lack detail, don’t show the right colours, and low-light images are always noisy.
The non-swappable battery lasts for only 10 hours of average usage – you will be charging it twice a day. SPECS 1.5GHz quad-core processor, FullHD 5-inch screen, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 32GB memory, 2GB RAM, FM radio, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.
The only way you can consider buying the Intex Aqua i7 is if you are able to change every aspect of the built-in theme. If you do that, the large internal memory and the performance are great, but the low-quality camera and chunky build are unworthy of the price.
