TECH REVIEW .....................Spice Pinnacle Stylus

TECH REVIEW Spice Pinnacle Stylus

PRICE 15,999
SPECIFICATIONS
1.2Ghz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB + microSD, 5.5-inch (1280 x 720) LCD, 8MP rear + 2MP front cam, Android 4.2, 2,500mAh battery, dual SIM, 170 grams Superb display, stylus storage slot, great camera, good performance Average battery life, side buttons are too slim, not a pressure-sensitive stylus

The Spice Pinnacle Stylus is one of the few budget smartphones with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. The screen has excellent viewing angles with high brightness levels. Other phablets may come with a stylus, but this is the first one with a stylus storage slot. That being said, it is a just a basic capacitive stylus and not a pressure sensitive stylus (like the one that comes with Samsung’s Note devices).
The Pinnacle stylus weighs a hefty 170 grams and feels good to hold, but some may find it too large. The removable back panel has a glossy finish that attracts smudges. We also felt that the buttons on the side were too slim for comfortable use considering the size of the phone. The phone has dual full size SIM slots — both support 3G connectivity.
Performance from the phone is great. The Mediatek quad core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM runs most games and apps without a hitch. Even full HD video playback is seamless with no visible frame drops. The phone’s 8MP rear camera takes superb photographs in daylight and indoors — great for viewing on the screen. However, noise is visible in the pictures when viewed on a larger screen.
Audio output from the loudspeaker is loud enough for a small room. We did not like the phone’s average battery backup. With constant data connectivity, mix of calls, games and multimedia playback, the phone lasted less than a day. In the same price range, you can also consider the Karbonn Titanium S9. It has a 5.5-inch HD display, quad core processor, 1GB RAM, but offers double the internal storage (16GB), 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.
