INTERNET SPECIAL ................MS GUIDES

MS GUIDES

WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER

Microsoft Office is the cornerstone of the digital workspace, but isn’t without its own limitations. These free add-ins extend the suite’s abilities to make your work easier, faster and more efficient

Add Tabs To Office
Tabs have revolutionised how we use our internet browsers. So why should you be stuck with the old-school way in Office? The Office Tabs extension adds tabs within the three main MS Office programs -- Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This way, you can easily switch between files, rename them quickly, and even choose their style and appearance

Search Commands In Ribbon
The new Ribbon in Office 2007 and upwards gives easy access to a lot of menu options through the new ‘Ribbon’, but you still often don’t know where some are. Search Commands is a simple add-in from Microsoft that adds one more tab to the Ribbon, in which you can quickly search for the task you want to do.

Save Files As PDF
Since Office 2013, Microsoft has added the ability to save files directly as PDF, but if you are running an older version you will need an app to do that. – For Office 2007, you can install Microsoft’s official add-in. – For Office 2003 and older, PDF Creator lets you save a file as PDF through the print option.

Add Shortcuts In Excel
ASAP Utilities puts a new tab or Ribbon in Excel’s menu bar. The tab houses shortcuts to common tasks in Excel that are recessed deep within the menu system, such as exporting worksheets as separate files, removing excess spaces, advanced sorting features and more. There is so much functionality in ASAP, you’ll wonder how you ever used Excel without it.

Beautify Your Presentations
VisualBee (Office 2007, Office 2010) helps you beautify your presentations in a few clicks. Install it and head to the VisualBee tab in the Ribbon to choose ‘Enhance Presentation’. You will get a list of ready-made PowerPoint styles across categories such as business, finance, legal, medical, technology, education, sports, travel, etc. Choose a style to see a preview, along with options to modify individual slides (image, layout, animation style) or the whole presentation (template, transitions). Once you’re done, you can save the file to your hard drive and even share it on Facebook, Twitter or Slideshare with a click.

Access Your Cloud Storage Easily
StorageClouds adds a new menu in the Ribbon to give you shortcuts for your favourite cloud storage service, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive or others. It opens your cloud services in a browser window, where you can upload or download files. You can’t directly save or open files from Dropbox or other cloud drives, but never having to leave your program window is quite convenient.
