TRAVEL.. EASTERN EUROPE SPECIAL

 EASTERN EUROPE SPECIAL

European Sojourn

Distinguished cuisine and adventure against gorgeous backdrops await you in East Europe

Mention Eastern Europe and the first thing that comes to mind is romance. But there is an adventurous side to the land that is mostly famous for its architecture, history and cuisine. The backdrops for most adrenaline pumping activities are soaked in stunning natural beauty, making them irresistible for visitors. Go dog sledding in the snow laden landscapes of Slovakia; or kayaking in the green waters of Isono Valley in Slovenia. Prague, in Czech Republic is another destination where scrumptious cuisines add an exotic flavour to the gorgeous locales. You may have soared quite a few rocky mountains in the past but how about conquering a white mountain instead. Try ice climbing in Macedonia. One must-do activity during your Eastern European trip is to sip on your favourite beverage at a cafe in Ohrid, a quaint town that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Feel time stand still as you enjoy the weather and watch the world pass by right here. Pure bliss!

SLOVENIA

When it comes to natural beauty, Slovenia has enough to give most other nations an inferiority complex. Take a cycle tour to explore and view the angelic setting in most parts of the region. One can go zip lining on Lake Bohinj in Triglav National Park or even canoeing. Photography enthusiasts will find it difficult to stop the camera lens from flirting with the curvy mountains and silky waters here. But don’t hurry, capture as many pictures as you can. The Mediterranean area, Isonzo Valley, Soca is recommended for kayaking. Mountain biking is another great way to see the green treasures that Slovenia boasts of. Board a water taxi on Lake Bled and be witness to its pristine waters and surroundings as you pass by. No matter which route you choose, water or land, Slovenia will hold you captive to its beauty.

SLOVAKIA

Dog sledding is one activity that is limited to select snowbound countries and Slovakia is one of them. The husky dogs have strong personalities and mastering them at the first shot is not always possible. Sit back on the sledge while a trainer commands them to take you on a tour. Sit back tight, and get ready for the ride of a lifetime...
