Air India flies from most major cities around India to Leh (IXL), with a stopover in New Delhi (return fares from 9,635). If you’ve booked with Rimo Expeditions, they can arrange a pick-up from and drop-off to Leh airport.

96@yahoo.in; opp post office). Thogchak: This is a great place to pick up authentic Tibetan and Bhutanese arts and crafts (91-1982-253146; Fort Rd, opp power house). Cute Arts & Crafts: This little shop specialises in Ladakhi-ware (91-1982-255517; triqcutearts@yahoo.co.in; Main Bazaar). Leh’s Main Bazaar: Hunt around here and you will find a great bargain on woollens.
