Behror, a town in Alwar district in the state of Rajasthan is a good short term getaway for those looking to take in some heritage sites along with natural beauty. Founded by Rors by establishing one of their biggest forts here in the second century BC, Behror drew the spot light with tourist destinations like Neemrana Fort and the Tomb of Tarang Sultan. Nature and wildlife enthusiasts can head to Sariska Tiger Sanctuary to spot the majestic cat along with other wild animals.

FROM BANGALORE: SKANDAGIRI: 70 KMS, 2 HRS, 28 DEGREES

Skandagiri is a trekker’s paradise and is suitable for the younger ones in the family as well. Situated near Chikkaballapur in Karnataka, the hills around are verdant and filled with the sounds of birds. This itself makes Skandagiri the perfect break from the traffic noise of Bangalore city.
But the area’s biggest selling point is at the peak of the hills. Once you reach there after a long trek, you’re treated to a blanket of clouds. This gives visitors the feeling of being in the midst of clouds rather than rooted to the ground. Don’t forget to take a camera along to capture the beautiful formations as they cover the area around.
A great option for those looking to try something different is to opt for a night trek. Be sure to take a local guide along and wear warm clothing as it can get a bit chilly. By Rail: Nearest railhead is in Shimoga Town. By Road: Shimoga can be reached by road on NH 206.
